In 2018, Williamson Memorial Hospital announced it would be closing the doors of the clinic they operated in Gilbert, West Virginia. With concerns about access to healthcare in this area of Mingo County and job loss, the Williamson Health and Wellness Center pulled together a team to keep the clinic doors open.
Dr. Dino Beckett worked with Cherri Hatfield, P.A.C to ensure the clinic would remain open. After additional training for staff and office renovations, the Gilbert Clinic is now a satellite of the Williamson Health and Wellness Center. Through this team effort, the clinic staff retained their employment and healthcare will continue to be accessible to this community.
“The Town of Gilbert is always excited to have quality healthcare become available without having to drive a great distance to obtain it. This clinic opens resources that are much needed, and we sincerely wish the staff the very best. We appreciate any business that chooses to locate in Gilbert and welcome them with open arms,” says Vivian Livingood, Mayor of Gilbert.
Cheri Hatfield, P.A.C and staff will provide family medicine healthcare and look forward to serving the town and outlying communities.
Members of the Williamson Health and Wellness Center Board of Directors and staff, Tug Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Town of Gilbert leaders and community members, joined the staff of the Gilbert Clinic for a ceremonial ribbon cutting on Friday, February 1, 2019.
“Williamson Health and Wellness Center is pleased Cherri Hatfield has joined our efforts to build a Culture of Health. We are also excited to help keep those jobs in Gilbert while continuing to provide access to quality healthcare,” says Dr. Beckett
