Enjoying a Holiday Classic
Everybody has a favorite Christmas movie. For some, there’s nothing like kicking back on Christmas Eve with a marathon of A Christmas Story, and for others, the holiday season hasn’t begun until their yearly viewing of It’s a Wonderful Life. For Tug Valley Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Wes Wilson, The Polar Express is the perfect Christmas masterpiece, which is why he’s so excited for West End Drive-In’s showing of the classic on Saturday, November 28th.
“After the success of our Halloween-oriented films in the fall, we knew we wanted a strong film for the Christmas season,” says Wes. “With Williamson’s ties to the railroad industry, we felt this was a very appropriate film, and would attract the community to come out and watch.”
Wes’s connection with the film is special. “When I was a child, we would read the book every Christmas Eve, and when it became a film, our family was one of the first in line to go and watch, and we loved it!”
All Aboard!
Tickets to the movie will cost $7, with kids 5 years old and younger admitted for free. The movie begins at 6pm, but ticket holders may begin arriving at 5:30pm. The Tug Valley CVB will have a concession stand available. Families are encouraged to come in their comfiest pajamas, just like characters in the movie. Whether you have kids or you’re going solo, The Polar Express is a wonderful film to celebrate the magic of the holiday season!
