The Dirt Days Off Road-Festival is set to run July 22-25, 2021 in Williamson, West Virginia! The first Dirt Days Festival was hosted in 2019, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic the festival couldn’t happen in 2020. As things return to normal this year, it’s coming back bigger than before!
Bringing Fun to Williamson
Tug Valley Area Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Wes Wilson tells us Dirt Days 2021 will feature a variety of new things. He says, “Notably, we’re introducing Dirt Drags(dirt drag racing) adjacent to the Mud-Pit.” They’ll be offering two lanes set up where riders can go head-to-head on a 150’ long course. Dirt bikes, side-by-sides, and ATV’s will be welcome to participate with the purchase of a mud pit/dirt drag wristband. They’ll also be adding an off-road “cruise-in” for the 23rd, on 2nd Avenue. “Think of it as an off-road car show!” Wes says. “We’ll have several awards distributed and a few fun contests for folks to take part in”
According to the Dirt Days Festival Facebook event page, this festival will also include industry-related vendors, local foods, over 500 miles of trail riding in two states, the popular mud pit area, and more!
Dirt Days will also feature live music from Robert Eskridge and Southern Daze on Saturday night. “Their music is fantastic, and exactly fits our theme, “ Wes says.
Wes is also excited to have the chance to host events like Dirt Days again. “Just being able to host this event and return to some normalcy for our area is something that thrills me beyond words,” he says. “Our own people and visitors alike have been craving for a chance to get out and do things as a group, and this is the perfect opportunity.”
He thinks events like this will bring big things to the Tug River Valley. “In doing these, we’re attracting audiences to a place many of them have never been. It gives our area the spotlight to showcase the many reasons folks should come here, not just for events, but any time of year!”
