As the school year comes to an end and the weather warms up, fun outdoor activities begin! The Mingo County Family Resource Network is known for the fun family activities they organize for the community to enjoy and this weekend they’re hitting a homerun with a free outdoor movie night!
On Saturday, May 22nd, in collaboration with the Mingo County Partners in Prevention, the Mingo County FRN will host a free outdoor family movie night in Matewan, West Virginia. “Rookie of the Year” is about a young boy that suddenly has an incredible pitching arm after an accident, and gets a chance to play Major League Baseball with the Chicago Cubs. This family-friendly film will be a great way to spend an evening together with friends and family!
The movie begins at 8:30pm and has a run time of about two hours. The outdoor movie screen will be located on the lawn behind Union Hall in downtown Matewan. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and settle in for the film. Free popcorn will be provided while supplies last! Of course, you could always bring some extra snacks for the evening, maybe some Cracker Jacks!
Get outside this Saturday night and enjoy the movie!!
