According to teamwv.org, each year the month of April is recognized as a time to show our support for keeping all children safe and helping every family thrive. The theme of this year’s awareness campaign is “Growing a Better Tomorrow for All Children, Together.”
During April, the Mingo County Family Resource Network, along with Partners in Prevention collaborates to coordinate various activities across Mingo County to raise awareness for Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Mingo County Family Resource Network Director Amy Dearfield-Hannah says, “It is important for us to celebrate Child Abuse Prevention Month because it serves as a reminder that it is the responsibility of each and every one of us to make a difference in the lives of our children. Together, we can strive to create a healthy environment in which our families can thrive!”
