February is Go Red for Women’s Heart Health Month. During the month, a few local community organizations and businesses have partnered together to host a series of Heart Health Month Awareness activities which are guaranteed to be lots of fun!
Painting Fun!
On February 12th, it's time for a downtown painting class! This group painting class has been organized by the Tug Valley Chamber of Commerce, Mingo County Family Resource Network, Williamson Health and Wellness Center, and Williamson Forward. Local artist and Belfry High School art teacher Autumn Chapman will lead the group in a Valentine’s Day themed painting. The class will be held in the ballroom of the Mountaineer Hotel beginning at 5:30pm. Think you can’t paint? Don’t worry! If you can paint by number, you can do this class.
Tickets are $20.00 per person. This includes all your painting supplies, hot chocolate, coffee, water, cookies, and plenty of laughs! If you’re coming as a group, you’re welcome to bring snacks and beverages of your own for your group to enjoy. Tickets are on sale now through the Tug Valley Chamber of Commerce online shop. Tickets must be purchased by Sunday, February 7th. To keep the event small and provide plenty of physical distancing space, the number of tickets being offered is extremely limited. Proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to the American Heart Association.
“Our planning group is happy to organize these community events where we can provide a much-needed evening of fun, while supporting a great cause like heart health awareness. We’re also lucky to have chamber member businesses like the Mountaineer Hotel that are willing to work with us to provide a beautiful and spacious event space for our painting class,” says Tug Valley Chamber of Commerce President Chris Dotson.
You can find more information about this class on the Tug Valley Chamber of Commerce Facebook event page.
