Pneumafest 2021 at the Williamson Field House

“Pneuma is a Greek word meaning ‘breath of God’,” says Alice Tackett, with Pneumafest, a Christian music festival that has brought the Spirit to Williamson since 2004. “The festival was given the name to express the Holy Spirit working and moving in our lives to bring renewal and times of refreshing.”

When Pneumafest first started, folks from different denominations throughout the area came together over a shared desire to encourage Christians in the area, and reach those they felt needed the message. Through the years, they have featured a variety of national recording artists, and the festival has occurred annually every year except 2020.

This year’s Pneumafest will begin Friday, November 12th at the Williamson Field House, with a night of worship featuring local bands from 6pm-9pm.Those bands include Caleb Clark, Nevertheless, The Arise, and One Way. On Saturday the 13th, the concert will begin at 7pm, with David Dunn and at 8pm speaker Eric Bias will begin. The last artist, Rhett Walker will begin after the speaker. The last night picks up on Sunday at 7pm with Brock Gill. Due to COVID-19, seating will be spaced out, masks are optional.

When asked her favorite fun fact about Pneumafest, Alice shares her favorite inside joke: “When the event was held outdoors, you could basically plan on rain and the occasional severe storm, so we jokingly called it pneumoniafest!”

On a more serious note, her favorite part of working with Pneumafest is the unity she sees. “My favorite part is the unity between people on the committee, who come from so many different churches,” she says. “It’s the body of Christ working in partnership… when souls are saved, lives transformed, and hearts encouraged, that would be the most rewarding part.”

Alice loves bringing a spiritual event right to people’s hometown, instead of bringing them somewhere out of town or out of state. “Pneumafest provides the opportunity for churches to bring their students to a quality Christian event right here in our area, free of charge.”
