The Art of Water Exhibit Opening in The Sanger Gallery
On Saturday, March 25th, Randall Sanger will host a new exhibit opening, The Art of Water. The opening will be held in The Sanger Gallery located inside The Collective Retail and Artisan Shops on 2nd Avenue in downtown Williamson. Although his gallery officially opened on October 14, 2022 with the grand opening of The Collective, this is the first major gallery exhibit opening for Randall in The Sanger Gallery.
“While I had an exhibit titled The Drama of Light when my gallery opened in conjunction with the grand opening of The Collective Retail and Artisan Shops, there just wasn’t an opportunity to host a full-scale gallery opening at that time,” says Randall.
When asked how he chose the theme The Art of Water for his first major gallery exhibit he explains, “I have always been fascinated by water, especially moving water. Having my own gallery allows me free reign to display pieces without time limitations on when an image was created. I felt like The Art of Water theme allows me to come full circle, in a sense.”
Randall notes he will be featuring some older work from a time when he was carving out his niche in the photography world by concentrating on waterfalls. He will also be featuring brand new work that includes water as the main theme, such as abstracts and reflections, but these works also include his love of dramatic light.

Randall’s work is featured in numerous galleries, businesses, and magazines. “My work is currently represented at Tamarack in Beckley, the Buxton & Landstreet Gallery in Thomas, and the Beckley Art Center. And while not an art gallery in title, a large selection of my work is featured in the CAMC Cancer Center’s Healing Art program, “ Randall continues, “To this day, I receive comments from patients on how viewing my work had such a calming and soothing effect on them while they underwent treatments. Also, numerous pieces of my work are included in other CAMC properties. Lastly, my work is part of corporate and private collections worldwide.”
Despite being featured in so many prominent collections and galleries, there’s something special about being able to host an opening in his own gallery and in his hometown of Williamson.
Randall says, “I am very excited to host my first opening in my own gallery. Williamson has a budding art scene, and I am thrilled to play a larger role in that now, and I look forward to not only my upcoming exhibit, but also to hosting future gallery exhibits that will feature the work of other local/regional artists.”
