It's Market Season!
On Saturday, May 30, folks in Williamson will once again have access to fresh produce for the summer when the Williamson Farmers Market reopens. This will be the eighth summer that the Farmers Market will be open, says Kristin DeBoard, and as always the market will offer all of the fresh produce you could ask for, as well as live music from local musicians and a food truck.
A Few Changes
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, there will be a few changes to the way the market operates. The 6-feet rule will be observed between vendors, and plexiglass will be installed in front of the vendor tables. Additionally, handling of food and money will be kept to separate people to minimize the spread of germs. At the moment, there will be 7 or 8 vendors present at the market, but Kristin expects this to rise to the typical 8-12 as the summer progresses.
Regular Customers Returning
Kristin is excited for the market to pick back up for the summer so that she can catch up with the regulars, and describes “seeing the regular customers” as the most exciting thing about the start of the market season. If you’re looking to catch up with some regulars yourself, or just to pick up some local produce, you can attend opening day from 9am to 1pm. The market is located at 99 3rd. Avenue in downtown Williamson, next to City Gym.
