On July 25, young entrepreneurs throughout the area will have the chance to share their work at Young Entrepreneurs Day. Kiersten Dotson, an upcoming senior at Belfry High school, spotted recent social media posts about the event and was excited at the chance to participate.
Giving Back to the Community
Kiersten will be running Kiersten’s Krafts, where she’ll be selling personalized tumbler cups and different types of cloth face masks, which she’s now been making for some time. “I originally began making masks, because during this time of need people are in need of good quality masks.I wanted to help give back to the area the best I could during this hard time,” she says
Finding Calm in Crafting
She began making the cups not too long ago after getting a silhouette machine. This machine allows her to cut a variety of materials into different, detailed shapes. She loves crafting in her free time, and finds it to be a great stress reliever.
Kiersten’s favorite subject in school is English, which made her feel surprised that she was good with the business-aspect of Kiersten’s Krafts. She is looking forward to the chance to learn more about owning a small business. “I am most excited about just hearing maybe some feedback from the customers and knowing what I can do to improve my small business,” she says.
Come out on Saturday, July 25th to support Kiersten and 9 other young entrepreneurs during Young Entrepreneurs Day 2020 hosted by the Tug Valley Chamber of Commerce and Healthy in the Hills. The event will be held at the Williamson Farmers Market on 3rd Avenue, Williamson.
