Young Entrepreneur Spotlight: Madelyn Maynard
Like many young business owners in the area, Madelyn Maynard is looking forward to the opportunity to learn more about business ownership at Young Entrepreneur’s Day on July 25th.
16-year-old Madelyn will be selling Pokémon drawings through her business, Miss Maddie’s Mediums. She began drawing at a young age, and loved it.
“I simply kept doing it because I loved it and everyone in my life encouraged me,” she says.
Art is Life!
Madelyn’s favorite subjects at Belfry High School, where she is a junior, are biology and art. For her, it’s hard to imagine a world where she isn’t drawing.
“I literally cannot imagine what my life would be without art,” she says.
Madelyn learned about Young Entrepreneur’s Day with the help of her mom, through advertising for the event on social media. She wanted to do it because she thought it would be a good learning opportunity.
“I think it will be a good learning experience for me,” she says. “I’m most excited about meeting new people and learning about business.”
To support Madelyn and the other young business owners, come out on Saturday, July 25th during Young Entrepreneurs Day 2020 hosted by the Tug Valley Chamber of Commerce and Healthy in the Hills. The event will be held at the Williamson Farmers Market on 3rd Avenue, Williamson,WV from 9am - 2pm.
